Reincarnation

About two months ago I began writing a blog post about “reincarnation” and how some things in life change the direction in which we travel, somewhat feeling like being “reborn”; a new life. I found it difficult to complete this blog post, but a few months later I now feel like I finally understand what I was trying to say to myself.
Sometimes we get stuck in a bubble, trying to understand where we are, how we got there and where we want to go, all without the awareness of the outside of the bubble we’re responsible for creating. When you experience new things in life, be it travel, inspiration etc. we start to reinvent our lives, or add context to our perceived purpose. People that know me are probably sick of reading or hearing about my Japanese experiences (I’m not sorry) but going back to Japan in mid-November 2018 was that journey that served as a reminder that the decision I’ve made to go back to university (for Japanese study) will prove to be one of the best decisions I’ve made for preparing to (one day) move to Japan, as well as for the rest of my life.
On this third trip to Japan I was able to take a ‘back seat’ and understand Japanese culture from a simpler level without all of the cultural differences becoming apparent. Having a greater understanding of the language has completely changed my ability to take in more of the Japanese lifestyle and learn how I can fit in to this society. My desire to study harder has been realised and I’m looking forward to going back to Japan in January 2019 for a month long study tour. In a way, this will be a ‘trial’ of seeing what it’s like to live in Japan without actually committing to it, and I can’t wait to find out how I feel after.
Perhaps it’s the realisation that this life is already a reincarnation, and the reality that each day is another day closer to my dreams being fulfilled. All I know is that, one day, this dream will become a reality, now I’m just enjoying my journey towards that next life.
